Foreign Holidays

When we travel abroad, we take our language and culture with us, becoming, for a time, minorities within a new dominant culture. Students experiencing one of their native holidays abroad often report that the time can be a disorienting one of culture shock and homesickness. However, many also report that the experience is educational, allowing them to experience the ingenuity, perseverance, courage, and community that immigrants need to keep their native traditions alive.
